LG Washer and Dryer Error Codes and Troubleshooting
LG Group is one of the leading electrical appliance manufacturers and suppliers that started with the name Lucky Goldstar. The company is commonly referred to as LG in the market, as you can easily find a wide range of selections when it comes to choosing the right appliance for you.
Based in South Korea the company has gone through many changes that helped achieve one of the top tanks in the world. Currently, LG offers a lot more than services, along with everyday appliances such as fridges, washing machines, AC, and so on.
When using any electrical appliance it is common to find an error code in one of them. There is no need to panic, as all you have to do is to simply note down the code and match the code to the issue using the LG washing machine error codes listed below.

| AE | Water leaks. |
| DE | The lid is not closed properly. Make sure that the lis is closed properly and press the START/PAUSE button. After starting a cycle, it may take a few moments before the tub begins to turn or spin. |
| dL | The lid is not closed properly. Make sure that the lid is closed properly and press the START/STOP button. |
| dr | Special Drain Feature. If the washer is paused during a cyclefor more than five minutes, the cycle will be cancelled and any water remaining in the tub will be drained. |
| ub | The washer has detected an out of balance load. If the washer detects a load that is too far out of balance to spin, it will display this code while it is attempting to rebalance the load. |
| E6 | Clutch error. Mechanical failure. Unplug the washer and call for service. |
| dHE | Control Error. Unplug power plug and call for service. |
| PF | The washer experienced a power failure. |

| DE | Draining Error |
| tE, TE1, TE2, TE3, TE4 | Heating Error. There is an issue with thermistor. |
| EHE - ELE | Heater Error. This indicates an issue with the heating element. |

Code: IE
Reason:
- Water supply is not adequate in area
- Water supply taps are not completely open
- Water inlet hose(s) are kinked
- The filter of the inlet hose(s) are clogged
- If water leakage occurred in the inlet hose, indicator ‘A ’ will become red
Solution:
- Check another tap in the house
- Fully open tap
- Straighten hose
- Check the filter of the inlet hose
Code: OE
Reason:
- Drain hose is kinked or clogged
- The drain filter is clogged
Solution:
- Clean and straighten the drain hose
- Clean the drain filter
Code: UE
Reason:
- Load is too small
- Load is out of balance
- The appliance has an imbalance detection and correction system. If individual heavy articles are loaded (e.g. bath mat, bath robe, etc.) this system may stop spinning or even interrupt the spin cycle altogether
- If the laundry is still too wet at the end of the cycle, add smaller articles of laundry to balance the load and repeat the spin cycle

Possible Cause: The lid is not closed properly
Solution: Make sure that the lis is closed properly and press the START/PAUSE button. After starting a cycle, it may take a few moments before the tub begins to turn or spin. The washer will not spin unless the lis is locked. If the lis is closed and the lid lock error message is displayed, call for service.
Code: dL
Possible Cause: The lid is not closed properly
Solution:Make sure that the lid is closed properly and press the START/STOP button. The washer will not operate unless the lid is locked. Make sure that nothing is caught under the lid, including material or clothing. Make sure that the latch mechanism is fully retracted. If the lid is closed and the lid lock error message is displayed, call for service.

Possible Cause: Special Drain Feature
Solution: If the washer is paused during a cyclefor more than five minutes, the cycle will be cancelled and any water remaining in the tub will be drained.
Code: ub
Possible Cause: The washer has detected an out of balance load
Solution: If the washer detects a load that is too far out of balance to spin, it will display this code while it is attempting to rebalance the load. The waher will add water and try to redistribute the load automatically. As a result, the cycle will take longer than initially estimated. This display is for your informatin only, and no action is required.

Possible Cause: Clutch error
Solution: Mechanical failure. Unplug the washer and call for service.
Code: dHE
Reason: Control Error

Troubleshooting Guide
This washing machine is equipped with automatic safety functions which detect and diagnose faults at an early stage and react appropriately. When the machine does not function properly or does not function at all, check the following points before you contact your service provider.

| Rattling and clanking noise | Foreign objects such as coins or safety pins maybe in drum or pump. Stop washer, check drum and drain filter. If noise continues after washer is restarted, call your authorised service centre. |
| Thumping sound | Heavy wash loads may produce a thumping sound. This is usually normal. If sound continues, washer is probably out of balance. Stop and redistribute wash load. |
| Vibrating noise | • Have all the transit bolts and packing been removed? If not removed during installation, refer to Installation guide for removing transit bolts. |
| Water leaks | -Fill hoses or drain hose are loose at tap or washer. Check and tighten hose connections. House drain pipes are clogged. -Unclog drain pipe. Contact plumber if necessary. |
| Oversudsing | Too much detergent or unsuitable detergent may cause excessive foaming which may result in water leaks. |
| Water does not enter washer or it enters slowly | Water supply is not adequate in area. Check another tap in the house. |
| Water in the washer does not drain or drains slowly. | Drain hose is kinked or clogged. Clean and straighten the drain hose. |
| Washer does not start | Electrical power cord may not be plugged in or connection may be loose. Make sure plug fits tightly in wall outlet. |
| Washer will not spin | Water supply tap is not turned on. Turn on water supply tap. |
| Door does not open | Once machine has started, the door cannot be opened for safety reasons. Check if the "Door Lock" icon is illuminated. You can safely open the door after the "Door Lock" icon turns off. |
| Wash cycle time delayed | The washing time may vary by the amount of laundry, water pressure, water temperature and other usage conditions. If an imbalance is detected or if the suds removing programme is on, the wash time shall be increased. |
| Fabric softener overflow | Too much softener may cause an overflow. Follow softener guidelines to ensure appropriate amount is used. Do not exceed the maximum fill line. |
| Softeners dispensed too early | Close the dispenser drawer slowly. Do not open the drawer during the wash cycle. |

Restore power to the dryer and attempt to run another cycle. |
| tE2 | Thermistor of blower housing. Outlet thermistor open or shorted. tE2 error is displayed in the drying cycle or test mode. Replace the steam generator. Powe the dryer ON. Select the SteamFresh cycle. Press the MORE TIME button until big is shown in the display. Press the START button. |
| tE3 | Dryer's thermsitor; Unplug the dryer or trip the circuit braker supplying power to the dryer. While the dryer remains without power, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds. Restore power to the dryer and attempt to run another cycle. |
| tE4 | Thermistor of steam generator. Steam generator thermistor open or shorted. tE4 error is only displayed in the test mode. Replace the steam generator. |
| E5 | Water supply pump. When the pump valve is less than 10 in the test mode. tE5 error is only displayed in the test mode. Check the connection between harness wire and connector. Replace the water supply pump. |
| Add | Steam generator. Sensors do not detect that steam generator is full within 60 seconds. If water in the steam feeder is not enough this error may be displayed. Fill the feeder and restart the cycle. |
| PS | Wire Connection (Black-White-Red) Wire Connection is wrong. Wire Connection is loose. Verify proper connection of the power cord. (Electric dryer only.) PS means power supply. |
| EE | EE PROM Error. EE PROM operation is adnormal. EE error is displayed only in the test mode. |
| HS | Humidity Sensor failure. Turn off the dryer and call for service. |
| d75, d80, d90, d95 | The d75, d80, d90, d95 error codes indicate that the dryer's exhaust duct is clogged %75,%80,%90,%95 respectively. The hot, humid air from the dryer has to go somewhere or else the moisture will stay in the drum and clothes 2 or 4 four bars on the flowsense indicates that the exhaust system is severely restricted. |
| nP | A nP error code on the dryer's display indicates that there is a problem with the electrical wiring in the home and that no currunt is being detected at the heater. |
| dE | The dryer door is not completely closed. |
| E13 | Dryer's display indicates that the drain hose is kinked, crushed, clogged or that the water in sump is frozen. |
| F0 | An F0 error or a flashing insert filter on the dryer's display indicates that the lint filter should be check to ensure that it is inserted properly. |
| PF | This usually happens after a power outage. To fix it, we're going to do a factory reset.While the dryer is without power, press and hold the start/pause button for 5 sec. |
| gAS | A gAS error code means that the dryer door is not receiving gas. Make sure that the gas supply valve is turned ON. Mak sure the gas line is not kinked. |
| CL | CHILD LOCK reading on the dryer's display is not actually an error code but rather an indication that the child lock feature is active. Press and hold the key labeled child lock for 3 seconds to disable the child lock feature. |
Note: When the dryer is TUV installed, this test should be performed to alert you to any existing problems with the exhaust duct in your home. However, since the test performed during normal operation provides more accurate information on the condition of the exhaust duct than does the installation test, the number of bars displayed during the two tests may not be the same.

| Garments are too damp or too dry after REDUCE STATIC | Correct drying options not selected. Select load weight manually before starting REDUCE STATIC option. |
| Garments are not uniformly damp after EASY IRON. | This is normal. Depends on the amount or type of garments. |
| Water drips from door during steam cycle. | This is normal. This is steam condensation on door surface. |
| Steam is not visible during steam cycle. | This is normal. Steam vapor is difficult to see when the door is closed. |
| Drum does not turn during steam cycle. | This is normal. The drum is turned off so that the steam vapor remains in the drum. |
| Cannot see steam vapor at the beginning of cycle. | This is normal. Steam is released at different stages of the cycle for each option. |
| Odors remain in clothing after STEAM FRESH | STEAM FRESH™ did not remove odor completely. Fabrics containing strong odors should be washed in a normal cycle. |

Code looked like: t cl when first switched on. Message goes away and machine works normally. Anything to worry about?
To clean up the tub, please run the TUB CLEAN cycle.
